The main large-scale surface boundary on the 12th was a stationary front located over eastern New York. A surface trough could also be analyzed across eastern Pennsylvania, extending southward into Virginia. Temperatures in the 70s and dew points in the 60s over northeast Pennsylvania were well above normal for mid May.
