Summary of the SPC analysis data

  • The low-level CAPES increased through the evening, and went from marginal to favorable over the southern tier from 23z-01z.

  • However, the warm front quickly moved north of the southern tier during that time. The area corresponding to the axis of maximum surface vorticity (associated with the warm front) was characterized by low-level CAPES from 25 to 75 J/kg from 23z-01z.

  • The SPC analysis indicated that storm relative winds remained at or below 20 kts across the warm front and points south from 23z – 01z.

  • The SPC analysis indicated that LCLs along and south of the warm front were near 1000 m, or near the top end of the range of values favorable for tornadogenesis.
