The BUF sounding at 12z was indicating lapse rates of around 6 degrees C per km at mid-levels with a dry layer just below 500 mb. Significant turning can be seen at low-levels, with light southerly flow transitioning to a mid-level westerly flow from 20 to 35 kts.
