This reflectivity image from the TYX WSR-88D at 00z on the 3rd indicates that several bands of moderate to heavy lake effect snow were located east of Lake Ontario at that time. One broken band was located near Syracuse. Some light snow accumulations were occurring near Syracuse at this time, but the dominant band that would produce heavy accumulations in the Syracuse area had still not organized.
