This slide shows the RUC analysis of frontogenesis, upward motion, negative EPV (shaded green) and RH, valid at 01/06 UTC. The upward motion maxima of 8 µb-1 is about half way between the GFS and NAM forecasts shown previously. The weak frontogenesis beneath the upward motion is more similar to the GFS forecast.
