Overview
The storm was originally expected to be a big snow producer for most of the forecast area.
A change from snow to sleet and freezing rain, followed by a dry slot, severely reduced snow amounts, especially across the central and southern counties.
The storm ended up producing heavy snow amounts for the northern county warning area, with light to moderate amounts across the central and south.
Unexpectedly heavy snow during the “back-end” of the storm was primary responsible for heavy snow across the north.
