Cross-sections taken across these lake-induced fronts show the frontogentically-induced circulations that develop downwind of Lake Ontario. The strong ageostrophic southerly flow southeast of Lake Ontario (in the lower right part of the cross-sections) appears to be associated with the thermally direct circulation associated with the lake-induced front. A conceptual model is shown on the next slide.
