Notes:

The strongest upward vertical motion became juxtaposed with negative geostrophic, saturation, equivalent potential vorticity (EPV) during the evening on the 16th. Negative EPV juxtaposed with upward vertical motion associated with frontogenesis indicates an environment that is favorable for slantwise vertical motion, and intense snow banding.
