Most of the +SN with the October 28th event was associated with N-S or NE-SW oriented banding; within the N/NW quadrant of deepening 700 mb cyclone
- Strong speed convergence into tight thermal gradient at 700 mb
- Matches previous conceptual models and recent Novak composites well
Fgen forcing almost showed “bi-modal” pattern with this storm
- One maximum before 09z, associated with best low-level warm advection / QG forcing
- Second maximum from 12z-18z, associated with deformation band/mid-level ageostrophic contributions for ascent
