700-500 mb lapse rate and 850-700 mb frontogenesis

Frontogenesis in the layer from 850-700 mb appeared to become focused and intense over central and eastern New York between 18z on the 23rd and 00z on the 24th. An axis of reduced stability (as shown by low theta-e lapse rates) was also in place on the warm side of the frontogenesis during that period.|
