Notes:
This reflectivity cross section, taken through the storm over the Syracuse area, showed a core of high reflectivity aloft, with 60 dbz values extending to about 25,000 feet, or about 3,000 feet above the -20 degree C level. National and local research indicates that this structure is conducive to large hail. Note also the weak echo region located beneath the core, indicating a strong updraft.
