Notes:
The maxima of surface frontogenesis was analyzed near the surface cold front at 09z, well to the west of the severe storms in central New York and northeast Pennsylvania. The 850 mb frontogenesis was farther east, better co-located with the cold front aloft.Click on image to toggle between images.
