SREF p-type plumes from 1/31 03z run
Notes:
Plume forecasts from an early (03z January 31st, 2011) run of the SREF showed a snow/sleet event at AVP on the 1st, then a big mixed precipitation on the 2nd. (left slide). Several members of the ensemble were indicating primarily freezing rain at AVP, but there were some members indicating snow or sleet. Meanwhile, the SREF members were indicating a snow event at BGM on the 1st, then a snow or sleet event on the 2nd, with the members about evenly split between snow and sleet around 12z.
