Notes:
New York and Pennsylvania were in the right entrance region of an upper-level jet located over Quebec and northern New England at 12z on the 8ththrough 00z on the 9th. Another upper-level jet maxima approached from the west early on the 9th, placing New York and Pennsylvania in a "coupled jet" location, within both the right entrance region of the upper jet over eastern Canada and the left exit region of a jet over the Great Lakes and upper Ohio Valley.
