Summary

  • An outbreak of flash flooding occurred across the Finger Lakes during the afternoon on June 14.
  • The heaviest rain appeared to fall during a two to three hour period when an east-west band of rain trained across the area.
  • KDP values were moderately large during the event, and ZDR values indicated a mix of large and smaller drops.
  • Rainfall totals across the flash flood area ranged from 1.5 to 4.0 inches and mostly fell in about 2 hours.
