ZDR and KDP at 0115z July 1st

Notes:

Differential reflectivity (ZDR) values associated with the first batch of heavy rain were as high as 3.4 dbz with specific differential phase (KDP) values as high as 4.2 degrees per km. ZDR values of 3.4 indicated that isolated areas of large rain drops were occurring, possibly due the melting of hail. KDP values of 4.2 degrees per km are typically associated with heavy rainfall.
