QPF meteogram at AVPNotes:The Wilkes-Barre and Scranton areas would be near the northern edge of the precipitation with this system. The data on this slide shows model forecast precipitation amounts at Avoca, Pennsylvania (AVP) which is located midway between Wilkes-Barre and Scranton. Amounts range from 1.2 inches from the 18z January 22 run of the NAM, to about half an inch from the 18z January 22 run of the GFS. The observed precipitation is shown by the dots, indicating that amounts were less than any of the forecasts; only around 0.2 inches.
