This slide shows that a large area of heavy rain occurred over central New York, along the northwest slopes of the Allegheny plateau. The heaviest rains fell over hilly terrain just south of Syracuse. Another area of flash flooding was observed later that night over the east slopes of the Poconos and south slopes of the Catskills.
