Summary of the BUFKIT data

  • South of the warm front, the low-level CAPE became increasingly favorable during the evening (increased from around 50 to 130 J/kg).

  • South of the warm front, the mid-level storm relative winds were modest. (decreased from 10 m/s to 8 m/s). Shear was mostly in the lowest 1 km.

  • All and south of the warm front, LCL heights were around 1000 m.

  • North of the warm front, the thermodynamic environment was not favorable for tornadogenesis.

  • North of the warm front, strong shear profiles resulted in favorably strong mid-level storm relative winds.

  • North of the warm front, LCL heights were low.
