Snow Depths on April 1

  • Spotter and cooperative observer reports indicated little if any snow cover at most valley locations prior to the flood.

  • However, significant snow depths were still being reported at higher elevations, with up to a foot over 2000 feet above sea-level in the Poconos (mainly north-facing slopes).

  • Liquid equivalent amounts in the higher elevation snow pack was still several inches in some spots.
