By 06z, significant changes were forecast for the low-level wind fields near Lake Ontario. Shear was forecast to increase south of the Lake, while shear would remain weak over the Lake. The result was the development of a concentrated area of convergence along the south end of the Lake, extending into the Syracuse area.
