Notes:

This model sounding valid at KAVP (Avoca, Pennsylvania near Wilkes Barre), deep moisture and a small “skinny” CAPE profile is indicated. The strong low-level jet is indicated by the hodograph. Note also that the majority of the shear in this case was in the lowest 2 km of the sounding; weak shear was indicated above 2 km. These features are all typical of major flash flood events in our area.
