Notes:

The data on this slide is a model forecast sounding valid at Binghamton NY at 09z on the 27th, at the time when significant flash flooding was occurring in the Binghamton area. The sounding is similar to the KAVP sounding shown several slides ago. Deep moisture and a tall, “skinny” CAPE profile is indicated. The hodograph shows strong shear (directional and speed) in the lowest 2 km of the sounding, with weak shear above 2 km.
