This slide shows a 12 hour NAM forecast of 850-700 hPa omega (upward vertical motion shaded yellow/orange) and equivalent potential temperature lapse rate (green contours). Lift associated with the frontogenesis was forecast to be centered over central Pennsylvania. The lift was co-located with an axis of reduced stability (small lapse rates), indicating the potential for enhanced snow banding over Pennsylvania.
