850 mb wind, temperature and frontogenesis

Notes:

This 12 hour forecast of 850 hPa frontogenesis, temperature and wind indicated that, while the large-scale pattern did not appear to be favorable for heavy snow across northeast Pennsylvania, some favorable smaller-scale features where in place. Southeasterly flow over eastern Pennsylvania was forecast to transport low-level moisture across a frontal zone indicated by the frontogenesis over northeast Pennsylvania. The circulation associated with the front would have the potential to produced a localized band of heavier snow, especially if the circulation become co-located with a region of reduced stability.
