Output from the short range ensemble forecasts (SREFs) was also examined in this study. The data shown on the next few slides is from 9 to 21 hour SREF forecasts. Probabilities of the various types of precipitation type were recorded and plotted, at 3 hourly times, at AVP, BGM and SYR. The observed precipitation type is shown on each chart.
