Later in the evening, a bow echo with heavy rain and strong winds moved across the southern tier of New York. A rear-inflow notch can be seen in the reflectivity image to the left, in the portion of the bow northeast of Binghamton. Base velocity along the cross-section annotated in the reflectivity image is shown on the right. Outbound velocity values of greater than 70 kts can be seen along the cross-section, indicating the potential for strong surface winds.
