This slide summarizes the damage associated with Irene in our area. Flash flooding occurred in many places around the area, but was mostly moderate in intensity. However, extreme flash flooding did occur in a few places, most notably in the Catskills where the towns of Margaretville and Fleischmanns sustainned heavy damage, and in western Wyoming county, Pennsylvania, where heavy damage was reported to roads and bridges. Power outages, which are not well represented in this graphic, were also widespread across central New York and northeast Pennsylvania.
