Notes:

The data on this slide shows NAM forecast soundings at AVP (near Scranton) during the storm. The forecast was for a deep layer of cold air initially, then a warm layer aloft was forecast to change the snow to freezing rain around 00z on the 27th. By 03z, the dry slot would bring dry air in aloft, which would likely result in a reduction of the precipitation to drizzle or freezing drizzle.
