Notes:
What follows is a short study comparing this event to a few previous, notable warm-season convective squall lines that have affected southern New York and / or northern Pennsylvania during the past several years. The events selected for comparison with July 26, 2012 are July 23, 2003, June 5, 2006 and May 27, 2011. An isolated tornado occurred on May 27th, and a few occurred on July 23rd, but none of these other events had the tornado frequency seen on July 26th, 2012.
