Rotation vs. time - Sullivan county tornado

This slide shows a time series of WSR-88D indicated rotational velocity across a distance of 0.5 nm, for the storm prior to and during the time of tornado touchdown. Rotational velocity values were quite modest prior to tornado touchdown, and decreased significantly as the tornado was touching down. This decrease may have been associated with a lowering of the rotation below the elevation of the radar beam.
