SPC mid-level lapse rates
Notes:
SPC analysis of the mid-level (700-500 mb) lapse rates at 06z (widespread precipitation) and 00z (banded precipitation) indicated steeper lapse rates at 00z. At 00z, a band of 6 to 6.5 degree C per km lapse rates can be seen extending from eastern New England westward to northeast Pennsylvania, juxtaposed with the banding. By contrast, lapse rates were generally less than 6 degrees C per km at 06z.
