ZDR and KDP at 20z June 14Notes:A close view of differential reflectivity (ZDR) at 20z, around the time of heaviest rainfall near to just west of Watkins Glen, indicated that much of the heavy rain area was dominated by small values (mostly 1 to 2 dbz), indicating small rain drops, with just a few pixels of higher values (just west of Watkins Glen at 20z) indicating larger drops. Specific differential phase (KDP) values maximized between 2.0 and 3.0 near and just to the west of Watkins Glen around this time, indicating some pockets of moderate to heavy rain.
