Observed BUF sounding - 12z
Notes:
The Buffalo sounding at 12z was moderately unstable with a mixed-layer CAPE of 1480 J/kg. Winds were also rather strong for late July with 45 knots from the northwest at 600 mb. However, the sounding was extremely dry at mid-levels with dew point depression values of greater than 40 degrees C at 500 mb.
