Notes:
KDP is dual polarization variable that is proportional to the amount of liquid in a volume sample. KDP values spiked up to a maxima of 6.85 as the storms were moving across the Scranton area at 2020z. By 2030z values had decreased to 4.6. Previous local studies have shown that KDP values of greater than 5.0 have been associated with very heavy rain rates and flash flooding in our area.
