Notes:
A comparison of 700 mb height and frontogenesis between the 18z March 11 runs of the GFS and 12 km NAM indicated huge differences between these models. Both models forecast one low west of the Appalachians, and a secondary low farther east, however the GFS forecast the eastern low over the eastern end of Long Island , while the NAM forecast the much weaker eastern low over north-central Pa.
