Schematic for laterally translating bands

Notes:

This schematic shows the pattern associated with laterally translating snow bands. Typically, low pressure is to the west, and the banded area is in a zone of strong warm air advection and mid-level frontogenesis to the north or northeast of the surface cyclone. This was the pattern during the early stages of the storm, prior to rapid cyclongenesis along the east coast.
