Low pressure initially over the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys redeveloped along the North Carolina coast then deepened rapidly as it tracked northeast toward Cape Cod. The deepening rate qualified this storm as a “bomb”, with a 24 hour rate of 28 mb from 00z on the 14th to 00z on the 15th. ![]()
