  • Overall, forcing was weak across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern States

    • Well removed from better upper-level jet dynamics
    • Mid-level short waves were ill-defined
    • Absence of a synoptic-scale frontal boundary

  • Above noted lack of focusing mechanisms suggested disorganized convective development, with perhaps more isolated areal coverage
