This slide depicts the 00Z BUF sounding (in red and green), with the previous 12Z BUF sounding (in light blue) to illustrate how the atmosphere over western New York has changed during the previous 12 hours. The increase in low level moisture is very apparent. Also note how the mid level cap has strengthened as temperatures at and around 700 mb have risen during the day. The vertical wind profile did not change much during the day, but wind speeds at almost all levels increased 5-10 knots during the preiod.
