Thunderstorms north of Pittsburgh quickly merged into an intense squall line between 1230 and 1330 UTC on the 6th.
The line moved east across northern Pennsylvania and central New York during the late morning and early afternoon.
Localized rotation was observed along parts of the line, and two short-lived tornadoes occurred across central Pennsylvania.
