Finally, the data on this slide indicates that the 15z January 17th short range ensemble forecast (SREF) was indicating a 60 to 80 percent probability of 12 hour snowfall exceeding an inch across central New York and northeast Pennsylvania. However, the probability of 12 hour snowfall exceeding 4 inches was shown to be less than 10 percent across the entire area.
