RUC forecast sounding at SYR
Notes:
This slide shows an 8 hour RUC forecast valid at Syracuse at 23z on the 26th. Mixed-layer CAPE values of over 1600 J/kg are indicated along with southwest flow increasing from less than 10 kts at the surface to 45 kts at 500 mb. The hodograph (right) indicates a veering, moderately strong wind profile. This sounding indicates that the warm front has moved just to the north of Syracuse, with surface dew points climbing to the mid 60s.
