Meso-analysis from the storm prediction center during the afternoon on July 25 indicated instability was be confined to areas along and south of the New York / Pennsylvania border. Mixed-layer CAPE values ranged from 1000-1500 J/kg across northern Pennsylvania and downdraft CAPE values ranged from 500-800 J/kg.
